Peri

Peri, a Micron+ R1 3d printer

I never quite finished the full Micron build series. I guess I knew that likely wouldn’t happen given how flakey I am with my own writing habits. And the truth is there’s no real reason to do it anymore. Does anyone search the web for answers? Besides AI, most people building a Voron these days knows to go to Discord or Reddit for the full trove of information. Just because Discord is crap for any kind of search or historical archive, the best information is still there. And so are the people doing the actual work. So yeah – If  you’re here because you thought you’d find all kinds of awesome about building a Micron, GET OUT OF HERE BOT!

The fun part – this is Peri. It’s a well tuned and fabulous Micron+ R1 with the latest best. Or best as of when it was finished in June-ish. It has two serials because why not:

  • M.215
  • V2.8241

I still want to add some more rgbleds. And what ever other mods I could potentially do I’ll be waiting on because there are other projects I want to get to. Mainly the Box Turtle…

While I’m here let me riff a bit about the potential for adding an Elegoo to my fleet. Fleet… ha!

My first real dive into 3d printing was an Elegoo bed slinger. It was a massive step up on the Anet that Tory built. They called it an Ender clone. And now they have a Bamboo clone that looks REALLY GOOD, especially at $299. I’m so very tempted to pick one up just to see what that world is like. Since I entered the open source Voron world I haven’t really looked too hard at much else. The Bamboos were just as expensive as my Voron kits so there was never a real draw. But at $299 and with my history… I convinced Jarrett to get one and his crew has used it a bit. I should just give that one a try…

We’ll see. I don’t actually need any more printers, they are just fun to have. I don’t even have the space…
