A Night at the Bards
It’s been over 20 years since Kari and I worked for the Bards in Evergreen, but they were throwing a party and put us on the invite list.
Kari wasn’t about to miss it and I thought it would be a nice getaway for the two of us to spend some time together in a place that holds some significance for us.
We flew into Denver on Friday, rented a car, and headed up to Alpen Way Chalet to get ready. Kari found a festive dress, and I found a matching tie. I think we looked pretty okay:
Old Friends
One of our close friends Janet had just recently returned to the Bards and was there as well with her boyfriend Ron. Really nice seeing her again and catching up a bit. Seeing Alex and Melissa, and Adam and John (Bard kids) was pretty neat too. A few folks were surprised we made the trip just for the party but overall it was pretty fun.
I had quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever eaten – lobster tail and the tenderist, melty-ist steak ever. So delicious.
Little Bear
We stopped into the Little Bear bar just for the old timey sake. The burgers weren’t as good as I remember, but it was nostalgic nonetheless.
