Anniversary 2016

This year marks 15 years of marriage for the two of us. Kari booked us a night in a little cabin up in Ogden Canyon at the Alaskan Inn, just the two of us. Jarrett was kind enough to watch the kids for the evening and get them on the bus the next morning. Thank you J, we had a fantastic night.

This last year or so has been a bit stressful. Kari and I have been arguing more than we ever used to, and some times don’t feel like we’ve been on the same page. There’s probably quite a few reasons for all of this, but working together every day and struggling financially with the business is the biggest factor.

So a night away together might not seem like it’s what we needed. But it absolutely was. It gave us time to talk to one another with joy and love. And to listen and not judge. We truly enjoyed each others company like we always used to. I look back on that night as showcasing the best of who we are, and I know that truly is who we are…

Dinner was great. Instead of running around Ogden we brought Sushi Blue from Park City and had an intimate meal right there in our little cabin. Afterwards we filled the hot tub and soaked and talked and laughed. And we loved. For a nice, long time.

The next day was biking. MTB Project app showed us a sweet 18 mile loop up from the canyon and over to Snow Basin. The fall colors were lovely. Check it:
