Old man hockey

This past winter Tory went to a couple Learn to Play Hockey sessions. I decided to join him at the adult version of learn to play, conveniently at the same time. He didn’t like it enough to continue but not me! I’ve been playing every Monday night in the Bronze league old man hockey night.

It has been a boatload of fun learning something so new – being so bad that every game is an opportunity to get better. The guys are all great – it’s really a no pressure league – everyone is playing for fun. Sure we’d like to win but it doesn’t matter if we don’t. I can’t imagine wanting to move up for quite some time if ever.

We have at least 10 in our team but it seems only 6 or 7 show up lately. That means long shifts. Earlier I. The season that may have killed me – but I’m either more conditioned now or I’m better at not skating so hard after every puck that it isn’t so bad now. Is that lazy or just smart?

The July season is signing up soon – shall we do this again? Let’s roll!
