Sandthrax Again

It wasn’t my first choice, but here we are, canyoneering in North Wash again. It’s a big group this time. Angie and Art, The DeFords, Brad and all associated kids. Jarrett and Mel, Mel’s sister Lara and Sean Mann are also here.

It’s been a good couple of days in the canyons – 13 through The Black Hole yesterday and another big ish day planned today.

I find myself wishing we’d have planned a few days in the river instead… I’m a bit canyoneered out for a while. Again though it’s been a good trip.

A new boat

Kari has been wanting a craft if her own to pilot for a while now and this was the year. The original plan was to get a duckie – probably from Hyside – but the idea of getting a small raft became more compelling. Both for the kids to use and for K to have a boat of her own.

So we put half down on a demo boat from Riverboat Works that will have only a few hours on it.

They’ll ship it late June. Pretty excited.
